Rianta and Ennovent worked together to catalyse early-stage businesses in agriculture, energy, water, health and other developmental sectors in India.   Ennovent conducted a crowdsourcing campaign through which it received 378 nominations and 116 applications from early-stage social enterprises from India. WWF Schweiz and Ennovent worked together to create a sustainable impact on tropical forest landscapes using business approaches.   The Tropical Forest Challenge specifically catalysed business ideas, start-ups and early-stage companies with solutions to crucial biodiversity challenges in tropical forest landscapes. 306 nominations and 74 applications from early-stage businesses were crowdsourced, and two winners were selected following voting, expert reviews and jury rounds.   The winners, Runa LLC (Ecuador) and Planting Empowerment (Panama) were rewarded with global visibility, networking opportunities and capacity building support to grow their businesses.

citiesRISE is a global action platform committed to transforming the state of mental health policy and practice for young people globally, leveraging city systems and youth leadership for change.   Ennovent provided capacity-building training to the awardees of the citiesRISE Youth Challenge Award, which identified and supported youth-led mental health initiatives in Chennai.   The mental health initiatives received support on refining their business model canvas, reviewing their fundraising strategies, and assessing the next steps for growth.   Featured image courtesy of citiesRISE.

Pop Up India is a unique program to boost open innovation and co-creation between Veolia and promising startups to address existing business challenges and explore new opportunities with social and environmental impact in India.   Pop Up India 2.0 was launched in February 2020 and called for applications from social enterprises working in the waste-to-value sector in India, primarily in feedstock collection for biomass to energy. Pop Up India 2.0 is providing businesses with the opportunity to jointly refine their solutions and successfully integrate them into Veolia’s value chain.   The 2 selected organisations are co-creating solutions with Veolia India...

Ennovent and the Asia Venture Philanthropy Network conducted a funding landscape study of the sustainable livelihoods sector in India from the demand-side perspective of NGOs and social enterprises.   The report was targeted towards enabling more impactful support to organisations with livelihood solutions by providing actionable recommendations on how social investors can help overcome sector-specific challenges.   The study presented a comprehensive overview of the funding landscape and identifies the prevailing gaps encountered by organisations while procuring and utilising funds.

Ennovent partnered with the WWF Landscape Finance Lab, who incubates sustainable land- and seascape programs that deliver impact on SDGs, to support its transition towards a self-sustaining business model following on from its pilot within WWF.   Ennovent assisted the Lab to refine its business model, assess effective organisational structure options and develop a robust financial model to ensure its financial viability. Additionally, the organisations sought to jointly support startups with sustainable solutions to critical challenges in priority landscapes.   As a result of Ennovent’s support, the Lab was better placed to incubate landscape programs in a sustainable manner.  ...

Ennovent was part of a consortium working to establish an innovation hub to drive sustainable outcomes in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in urban India.   A crowdsourcing campaign was conducted across India to find and select business innovations at the idea, seed and growth stages for acceleration support.
